Affiliate & Ad Disclosure

The Gift Guide is free to use and free to give from. Hereâs how it pays for itself, so you can judge any link or suggestion with that in mind.
Affiliate links
Many links from a list to a shop are affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, the shop may pay us a small commission. It doesnât cost you anything extra: you pay the shopâs normal price. We add the affiliate tag at the moment you click, to whichever link the listâs owner chose. It never changes which product or shop youâre sent to.
We take part in affiliate programs that may include Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, Impact (which covers shops such as Target, Walmart and Best Buy) and Skimlinks.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Sponsored picks
Brands can pay to have a product shown as a gift idea to people browsing a list, or as a suggestion when someone searches for a gift to add. Paid placements are:
- always labelled âSponsoredâ, with the advertiserâs name;
- never mixed in among the gifts a person actually chose for their list;
- never shown on lists owned by Plus members, or to owners on their own lists.
Advertisers pay when someone clicks a sponsored pick, or adds it to a list. We count those clicks without tracking who made them (see our Privacy Policy). Advertisers donât receive any information about you.
Cash gift fees
Cash gifts carry card processing at cost, plus a small service fee that covers paying out to the owner, all shown before you pay. Details are in our Payments & Refunds Policy.
What money doesnât touch
Only a listâs owner decides what goes on it. Prices and product details are copied from shops and can change, so always check with the shop before you buy. We donât sell, endorse or guarantee products sold by shops.
